Certified in Perinatal Mental Health
What does it mean?
Certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) is specialized training for therapists who support the emotional side of the reproductive journey,
including fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and pregnancy loss.
Offered through Postpartum Support International (PSI), the PMH-C credential signals advanced training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), trauma related to birth and reproductive loss, and the biological, psychological, and relational shifts unique to this life stage.
What does this mean for you?
When you work with a PMH-C certified clinician, you're working with someone who understands that perinatal mental health is not just general therapy applied to this journey. It's a specialty. The research, the medications, the physiology, the cultural weight of parenthood, the grief no one talks about, all of it requires training that most therapists don't have.
As a PMH-C certified psychologist, I bring that specialized lens to every session, whether you're considering a first pregnancy, navigating fertility treatment, pregnant and anxious, postpartum and unraveling, or grieving a loss.
